Take a Closer Look Around:
Local-Figure & Interior Painting Class with Steven Rhude
begins March 23 Acadia University Art Gallery http://gallery.acadiau.ca/Acadia_Art_Gallery/Outreach.html

This indoor workshop approaches the figure in its environment through photographic sources, memory, and process observation. The first class will be devoted to a field trip around Wolfville to attain source material for the following seven weeks. Our purpose is to develop the ability to see, perceive, inscribe, and translate experience as it relates to the subject of the figure in situ.

Various systems of representation will be studied over eight sessions. Oil painting techniques will also be explored such as under painting, glazing, alla prima (direct painting), to expand the students understanding of the expressive potential of oil paint.

Date and Time: Mondays, 7-9pm, March 23, 2015 – May 11, 2015 (8 weeks)
Cost: $180 (non-members)/ $170 (gallery members).
Materials: not included, participants will be provided with materials list for workshop.
Open to all skill levels.
Register: In person at the gallery, or download a workshop form off our website.
