White Boat (Justice)
White Boat, oil on canvas, 28" x 38", Steven Rhude I left Jennie's Sunrise B& B and headed past the fish plant towards the inshore area of Port aux Choix. Some guy was welding but took a break to chat for a while by his new boat. He asked where I was from but had never heard of Wolfville, so I just said I'm from Nova Scotia. I asked how the fishing went, and how his year was. He said it went good - really good in fact. Eventually I got around to asking him if I might take some photos of his boat. He asked what I did and I said I was a painter. I could see the pause in his eyes but he didn't reply. When I finished we chatted some more and then he said he must get back to his welding. As I walked away he said over his shoulder - "Do her justice by." Steven Rhude, Wolfville, NS
